This oil seal sits at the interface between the engine cover and the rotating shaft, preventing lubricant leakage and blocking external contaminants from entering the crankcase. It is a direct replacement for the original seal installed by the engine manufacturer. The seal lip maintains contact pressure against the shaft surface; wear on this lip leads to visible oil seepage around the cover joint. Because the seal is manufactured to the same lip geometry and rubber compound as the original, it seats correctly in the housing bore without additional shimming or adapters. On installation, ensure the seal face is clean and lubricate the lip lightly before pressing it flush with the housing face.
