This camshaft gasket seals the timing-gear housing at the camshaft exit point on the host tractor engine. It prevents oil from leaking past the camshaft bore and keeps the timing case interior free of external contamination. A degraded gasket allows oil seepage that can accumulate on the front of the engine block and, if unchecked, reduce oil level in the sump. The gasket is manufactured to the same material and profile as the original timing-cover seal, so it seats correctly in the housing groove without additional sealant. On installation, clean the mating surfaces thoroughly and tighten the retaining bolts to the engine manufacturer's specified torque.
