This kingpin is the pivot element in the front axle steering knuckle assembly. It connects the axle beam to the steering yoke, allowing the wheel hub to turn for directional changes. The pin carries the vertical load of the machine and transmits steering forces from the tie rod to the wheel assembly. Wear on the kingpin or its bushings produces free play in the steering, leading to imprecise handling and uneven tire wear. As an original AGCO component, the pin is machined to the same clearance specification as the mating bore in the axle housing, so no additional shimming or reaming is required during installation. On reinstall, torque the retaining nut to the manufacturer's specification and replace the dust seal.
