This chain adjusts the reel position on the header of a grain harvester. It connects the reel drive to the linkage that moves the reel fore and aft, allowing the operator to match the reel position to the crop condition and header angle. A worn or stretched chain causes inconsistent reel positioning, leading to uneven crop feeding into the auger. The set includes the clip for securing the chain ends. On installation, verify the chain tension matches the original spec to prevent slop in the adjustment mechanism.
