This hub mounts on the corn-header auger shaft and transmits drive to the gathering-chain sprocket. It is the interface between the shaft and the rotating assembly that pulls crop into the header. A worn hub allows the sprocket to slip or wobble, which causes uneven chain tension and can lead to chain derailment. The hub is machined to match the original shaft spline profile so that no shimming is required during installation.
