It captures airborne dust, pollen, and particulates from the incoming fresh-air stream before the air reaches the HVAC blower and the cabin interior. The filter sits in the housing located in the cabin air intake path. A loaded filter restricts airflow, reducing ventilation efficiency and allowing fine dust to bypass the media and enter the cabin. The manufacturer constructs this element to the same pleat geometry and media density as the original assembly, so it seats correctly in the housing frame and maintains the designed seal pressure.
