This stationary knife is the fixed cutting element mounted on the straw chopper rotor housing. It works in conjunction with the rotating blades to shear the straw into shorter lengths as it passes through the chopper assembly. A dull or damaged knife reduces cutting efficiency, leaving longer straw strands that can interfere with subsequent tillage or baling operations. This original part is manufactured to the same edge geometry and mounting-hole spacing as the original assembly, so it installs without modification. When replacing, inspect the mounting bolts and torque them to specification.
