It supports a rotating shaft within the drive system of a grain harvester, maintaining radial and axial alignment under load. The C3 clearance allows the bearing to operate at elevated temperatures without preload binding, which is common in continuously running threshing or chopper drives. The 2RS seals exclude dust and chaff from the rolling elements while retaining grease. When the bearing develops play or roughness, the driven shaft begins to wobble, causing belt flutter and uneven power transmission. The original manufacturer machines the raceways to the same geometry as the housing and shaft shoulders, so the bearing seats without shimming. On replacement, inspect the shaft journal for scoring and apply a light grease film to the bore before pressing into place.
