This sleeve is a wear component in the threshing drive of the parent combine. It acts as a bearing surface between the variator shaft and the pulley assembly, maintaining correct axial alignment during speed changes. Wear on the sleeve bore leads to shaft wobble, which causes belt misalignment and uneven threshing-drum speed. The original part is machined to the same internal and external diameters as the factory sleeve, so the pulley slides onto the shaft without requiring shimming or reaming. On installation, ensure the shaft is clean and free of burrs to avoid damaging the sleeve during assembly.
