This clutch half is the driving-side component of the clutch assembly located in the corn header attachment. It transmits torque from the header driveline to the intake rollers that pull the crop into the chopping or shelling mechanism. When the clutch facing wears, the assembly begins to slip under load, causing the intake rollers to slow or stop while the driveline continues to turn. This component is machined to the original geometry so that the friction disc seats squarely against the pressure plate, preventing uneven wear and premature release. On installation, ensure the mating faces are clean and free of oil, and check the release bearing clearance per the service manual.
