This throttle is a flow-control component installed in the grain unloading drive of a self-propelled forage harvester. It restricts hydraulic flow to regulate the speed of the unloading auger or conveyor, preventing overspeed when the grain tank is empty or the load is light. The orifice inside the throttle creates a pressure drop that limits flow rate regardless of upstream pressure fluctuations. If the throttle becomes clogged or worn, the unloading drive may operate at an uncontrolled speed, causing mechanical shock or inconsistent discharge. This original part is machined to the same internal bore diameter as the original assembly, so the flow restriction curve matches the factory calibration. On reinstallation, ensure the sealing washers or O-rings are replaced and the threaded connection is torqued to specification.
