This engine fuel filter removes particulate and water from the fuel supply before it reaches the high-pressure injection pump. It mounts in the fuel line between the primary pre-filter and the injection pump inlet. A clogged filter restricts fuel flow, causing power loss and erratic engine operation under load. The original filter matches the housing seal geometry and thread pitch so that the filter seals correctly without bypass leakage. On replacement, drain any water from the housing and tighten the filter to the specified torque.
