This left-side gathering finger is a spring-steel tine that sweeps seed or fertilizer into the metering mechanism of a grain drill. It mounts on the rotating gathering wheel and contacts the seed stream as it exits the hopper; its curved tip directs material into the delivery tubes that lead to the coulters. A bent or broken finger reduces seed flow to the affected row, causing uneven emergence. The finger is formed to the same profile as the original assembly, so it seats correctly in the wheel hub without additional adjustment.
