This left-hand moldboard is the wear surface on a reversible plow body, forming the furrow wall as the share cuts the soil. It mounts on the frog assembly behind the share and ahead of the landside; the soil slides across its face, so the moldboard’s curvature determines how the furrow slice is turned and broken. A worn or distorted moldboard causes poor furrow inversion, leaving residue exposed and increasing draft force. The mounting holes match the bolt pattern of the plow body, and the oval-head plow bolts used for attachment seat flush to avoid snagging. On replacement, use new bolts and torque them to the plow manufacturer’s specification.
