Product Description

This brake cylinder converts hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder into mechanical force that pushes the brake shoes against the drum. It is installed at each wheel within the drum brake assembly. When the brake pedal is depressed, fluid enters the cylinder and moves the internal pistons outward. A leaking cylinder causes a soft or sinking pedal and reduces braking force. The cylinder uses DOT 4 brake fluid; on replacement, bleed the circuit to remove air from the system.
