Wear on the flail tips reduces threshing efficiency and increases the power required to turn the rotor. The manufacturer machines the pivot hole and the overall length to match the original assembly geometry, so the flails swing freely without binding on the rotor bars. On installation, verify that each flail rotates freely on its pin and that the retaining hardware is torqued to specification.
