This piston assembly converts the linear force from the engine's press mechanism into mechanical motion for the attached implement. It consists of the piston body and a pinned connecting rod that transfers the stroke to the downstream linkage. Wear on the pin bore or the piston face reduces stroke accuracy, causing inconsistent press force. The manufacturer machines the pin bore to the same tolerance as the original assembly, so no bushing shimming is required during installation.
