This speed control motor adjusts the rotational speed of the reel on the header of a grain harvester. It receives a control signal from the cab and drives the reel driveline to match the reel speed to the forward ground speed of the machine. A failing motor causes the reel to drift or fail to hold its set speed, leading to uneven crop feeding into the auger. The motor is mounted to the header frame and connects to the reel drive shaft. On reinstall, ensure the mounting bolts are torqued to specification and the electrical connector is fully seated.
