This auger finger is the retractable component that pushes crop material toward the center of the header auger. It extends and retracts as the auger drum rotates, moving material from the outer sections of the header into the feeder house. A worn or broken finger reduces throughput and causes uneven feeding, which can lead to plugging at the auger-to-conveyor transition. The manufacturer machines this finger to match the original bore and cam-track geometry, so the extension timing and stroke remain correct for the header assembly. On installation, verify that the finger moves freely in its bore and that the retaining hardware is secured to the specified torque.
