It sits on the driven and idler pulleys at the rear of the header, converting rotational motion into linear movement of the belt surface that carries cut crop material toward the feeder house. A worn or stretched belt slips under load, reducing belt speed and causing material bunching or plugging at the header throat. The belt is constructed with embedded tensile cords to maintain length stability under tension. When replacing, ensure the belt is tensioned to the manufacturer's specification and that the pulleys are aligned to prevent edge wear.
