This bolt secures the disc blade to the disc-harrow gang. It passes through the blade's centre hole and threads into the spool or hub that holds the disc in place. A worn or loose bolt allows the disc to wobble, which causes uneven soil engagement and accelerated wear on the blade's centre bore. The bolt is manufactured to the original thread profile and head dimensions so it seats flush against the disc face without requiring additional shimming. On reinstallation, clean the threads and torque the bolt to the specification for the gang assembly.
