Mann Filter - HU12110X - Engine Oil Filter

This engine oil filter removes particulate and combustion byproducts from the engine oil before it circulates through the bearings and cylinder head. It is a full-flow spin-on type that mounts on the engine block and receives oil from the pump. A clogged or restricted filter forces the bypass valve to open, allowing unfiltered oil to reach the crankshaft and camshaft journals, which accelerates bearing wear. The manufacturer uses a pleated synthetic media that provides consistent filtration area and burst strength. Replace the filter at the interval specified for the engine; lubricate the gasket face before installation and tighten by hand until the gasket contacts the mounting surface, then give an additional three-quarter turn.
