This hydraulic oil filter captures contaminants from the hydraulic circuit before fluid returns to the reservoir. It mounts in the filter housing on the return side of the system, where it protects downstream components such as the pump and control valves from abrasive wear. A clogged element forces the bypass valve open, allowing unfiltered fluid to circulate and accelerating internal component damage. The filter uses a pleated cellulose media with a bypass valve integrated into the end cap, which opens only when the element reaches its rated pressure drop. On reinstallation, replace the housing seal and tighten the cap to the specified torque.
