This seed disc is the rotating plate that meters individual seeds from the hopper into the coulter for placement. It is driven by the metering shaft and carries a set of holes that pick up and release seeds at a controlled rate. Wear or damage to the disc surface or hole edges causes skips and doubles in the seed row, reducing planting accuracy. The disc is an original component from the manufacturer, machined to match the housing bore and seed pick-up geometry of the parent drill.
