This chain drives the intake drum on the header of a grain harvester. It transmits torque from the drum shaft to the feed mechanism that moves crop material into the threshing unit. A worn or stretched chain causes inconsistent drum speed, leading to uneven crop flow and potential blockages at the feed opening. The chain is supplied with the connecting clip for installation. On replacement, ensure the chain tension matches the original specification and that the clip is oriented in the direction of travel to prevent snagging.
