This hydraulic filter element removes particulate contamination from the hydraulic fluid circulating through the tractor's hydraulic system. It is installed in the filter housing on the return side of the circuit, where it captures wear debris from pumps, valves, and actuators before the fluid re-enters the reservoir. A clogged element forces the system's bypass valve open, allowing unfiltered oil to recirculate, which accelerates wear on downstream components such as the main pump and control valves. The filter is manufactured to match the original housing's seal geometry and bypass-valve cracking pressure, ensuring that the bypass remains closed during normal operation. When replacing the element, clean the housing bore and install a new seal on the cap before tightening to the specified torque.
