This bearing with housing supports a rotating shaft within the threshing unit of a forage harvester or combine. It is mounted at a pivot or idler point where the shaft passes through the machine frame, and the integrated housing simplifies alignment and retention. Wear in the bearing race or rolling elements produces radial play, which leads to shaft wobble and increased vibration in the driven assembly. The manufacturer machines the race and housing bore to the same tolerances as the original assembly, so the bearing seats without shimming and maintains the correct shaft centerline. On replacement, clean the mounting face and torque the retaining bolts to specification.
