They work with powerful STIHL AS-System lithium-ion batteries. The STIHL HLA 40 motor runs so quietly that the trimmer can be used without hearing protection and in places where quiet is required. Thanks to the ergonomically shaped handle with a soft grip, all controls are always at hand. The loop handle and the tool-free adjustable telescopic shaft make the STIHL HLA 40 hedge trimmer easy to operate. For comfortable and flexible work, the included carrying strap can be quickly attached to the bracket on the shaft. Laser-cut, diamond-ground, and hardened cutting teeth ensure high cutting performance. The tool-free adjustment of the cutting bar allows easy adjustment over a range of 115°, from -45° to +70° for side and overhead cutting. The bolted-on blade tip guard protects the cutting tool when working close to the ground. Thanks to the split shaft, the total length can be reduced from 260 cm to 115 cm, making it easier to transport the hedge trimmer and store it compactly on a wall mount.
