This water thermostat regulates coolant flow to maintain the engine within its intended operating temperature range. It is installed in the cooling circuit of the host tractor, where a wax-pellet element expands at a set temperature to open the valve and allow coolant to pass to the radiator. A thermostat that fails in the closed position causes overheating; one that fails open prevents the engine from reaching efficient operating temperature. This replacement component is manufactured to match the original housing bore and seal surface, ensuring proper seating without leakage. When reinstalling, clean the housing flange and use a new gasket.
