This hydraulic oil filter removes particulate from the transmission and hydraulic system fluid before it circulates through pumps, valves, and actuators. It mounts in the filter housing located on the return side of the hydraulic loop. A clogged filter element forces the bypass valve open, allowing unfiltered fluid to reach downstream components, which accelerates wear on the pump and control valves. The manufacturer machines the sealing surfaces to match the housing groove, ensuring the bypass valve seats correctly and maintains its cracking pressure. Replace the housing seal on reinstall and torque the cap to specification.
