This water pump circulates coolant through the engine block and radiator to maintain the operating temperature of the host tractor. It mounts to the engine front cover and is driven by the accessory belt; the impeller inside the housing moves coolant from the lower radiator hose into the water jacket. A failing pump typically produces a coolant leak from the weep hole or a bearing noise that increases with engine speed. The manufacturer machines the pump body and impeller to match the original housing geometry so the seal seats correctly against the engine block. On installation, clean the mounting surface and use a new gasket.
