This scythe head mounts on the cutterbar of a harvesting machine. It carries the knife sections that reciprocate against the guards to sever the crop. Wear on the knife sections or deformation of the head leads to uneven cutting and increased draft load on the drive. The head is manufactured to the same hole pattern and thickness as the original assembly, so no re-drilling or shimming is required during installation.
