This throttle cable transmits the operator's pedal or lever input to the engine's fuel injection pump, controlling engine speed. It connects the control lever in the cab to the throttle lever on the pump, providing a direct mechanical link. A stretched or frayed cable causes delayed throttle response or an inability to reach full engine speed. The cable is constructed to match the original assembly's travel length and end fittings, allowing it to be routed through the existing brackets and clamps without modification. On installation, verify the cable is not kinked and that the full range of travel is achieved at both ends before securing the locknuts.
