The hose is constructed from a thicker rubber compound to resist collapse under the negative pressure generated by the cooling fan and to withstand the thermal cycling of the system. A worn or softened hose can collapse under suction, restricting flow and causing the engine to overheat. The manufacturer produces this hose to match the original routing geometry and internal diameter, so it maintains the correct flow rate without kinking. On installation, ensure the hose ends are fully seated on the barbed fittings and that the clamps are torqued to specification to prevent leakage at the connection points.
