This engine repair kit contains the gaskets, seals, and bearings needed to overhaul a Perkins AT4.236 diesel engine. It is installed in the engine block and cylinder head, replacing the worn consumables that separate the combustion chamber from the cooling and lubrication circuits. A failing head gasket or worn main bearing seal allows coolant or oil to leak between galleries, causing overheating or low oil pressure. The kit is manufactured by Bepco to the same material specifications as the original engine components, so the crush height of the head gasket and the interference fit of the rear main seal match the factory design. On reassembly, clean the block and head mating surfaces thoroughly and tighten the cylinder head bolts in the sequence and torque specified for the engine.
