A degraded or hardened O-ring allows oil seepage, which can lead to low lubricant levels and accelerated gear wear. As an original AGCO component, the ring is molded to the same cross-section and hardness as the original seal, matching the groove geometry so that no additional sealant or shimming is required. On reinstall, clean the groove thoroughly and confirm the ring is seated evenly before torquing the cover bolts to specification.
