It sits at the outer end of the drag link, where the threaded shank engages the steering arm. Wear at the ball joint socket produces free play in the steering wheel, causing wandering and uneven tire wear. As an original AGCO component, the ball stud and socket are machined to the same clearance as the original assembly, so no shimming or adapter sleeves are required during replacement. On installation, tighten the locknut to the specified torque and verify that the joint moves freely through its full range without binding.
