This bearing-and-housing assembly supports the front axle of the host tractor, carrying the vertical and lateral loads transmitted through the steering knuckle. The housing aligns the bearing bore with the axle pivot axis, and the integrated grease nipple allows periodic lubrication of the rolling elements without disassembly. A worn bearing produces play at the wheel hub, which causes uneven tire wear and imprecise steering response. The manufacturer machines the housing to the original axle-mounting geometry, so the two bolt holes align with the existing bracket without reaming or shimming. On installation, clean the mating face and torque the mounting bolts to the specification for the axle assembly.
