It reduces friction and wear at the contact point, allowing the shaft to transmit torque smoothly through the drivetrain. A worn bushing introduces radial play, which can cause gear misalignment, noise, and accelerated wear on the shaft and adjacent bearings. As an original AGCO component, the bushing is machined to the same bore tolerance as the gearbox housing, so it seats without the need for selective fitting or shimming. On installation, ensure the bushing is fully seated in its bore and that the shaft rotates freely before closing the gearbox.
