This air filter housing encloses the primary filter element and directs incoming air to the intake system. It is the version without a dust ejector. The housing mounts upstream of the turbocharger or naturally aspirated intake, depending on the engine configuration. A yellow cap is used for non-turbocharged applications, while a red cap is specified for turbocharged engines. The housing provides a sealed interface for the filter element, preventing unfiltered air from bypassing the element and entering the engine. When reinstalling, ensure the sealing surfaces are clean and the retaining clips are fully engaged.
