This expansion valve regulates the flow of refrigerant in the tractor cab's air conditioning system. It is located in the cab, where it meters liquid refrigerant into the evaporator based on the cooling demand signaled by the system pressure. A valve that fails to open or close correctly will cause the evaporator to either starve or flood, leading to poor cooling or compressor damage. This original-manufacturer component is machined to the same internal orifice dimensions and spring rate as the original assembly, which the compressor and thermal expansion circuit rely on for consistent superheat control.
