This front-axle cable transmits mechanical input from the operator control to the axle-mounted actuator on the host tractor. It connects the cab-mounted lever or switch to the engagement mechanism on the front axle housing. A stretched or binding cable results in delayed or incomplete axle engagement, which can cause driveline shock when the system does finally lock. The cable is constructed to match the original assembly's travel length and end-fitting geometry, so it seats in the existing brackets without modification. On installation, verify the cable routing avoids sharp bends and that the outer sheath is fully seated in its retaining clips before adjusting the end stop.
