This ball bearing supports the input shaft of the turbocharger clutch assembly within the gearbox. It carries the radial and axial loads transmitted from the engine-driven turbocharger through the clutch pack to the driveline. A worn bearing produces audible rumble during engagement and can cause misalignment that accelerates clutch disc wear. The bearing is manufactured to the original 6013 C3 specification, which provides the internal clearance required for the thermal expansion present in this high-speed application. On replacement, inspect the clutch hub for fretting and ensure the bearing seats fully against the shoulder before securing the retaining ring.
