It carries radial and moderate axial loads while maintaining shaft alignment under operating speeds. The 6304 RS type includes integral rubber seals on both sides, which retain grease and exclude contaminants from the rolling elements. A worn bearing produces audible rumble or vibration at the shaft, and if left unchecked can lead to seizure or damage to the housing bore. AGCO manufactures this bearing to the original shaft and housing tolerances, so no shimming or adapter modifications are needed during replacement. On installation, press the bearing onto the shaft using the inner ring face only to avoid brinelling the raceway.
