This left-side chisel is a tillage tool designed to fracture and loosen soil in the plow's working depth. It is mounted on the plow frame and interacts with the soil directly; the reinforced carbide tip on the leading edge resists abrasive wear from soil contact. A worn chisel tip leads to increased draft force and uneven tillage depth across the implement. The carbide insert is brazed onto the steel body to maintain its position under load.
