This spin-on hydraulic oil filter removes particulate contamination from the fluid circulating in the tractor’s hydraulic system. It is installed in the filter housing on the pressure or return side of the loop, protecting downstream components such as valves, cylinders, and the pump from abrasive wear. A clogged filter restricts flow and can cause the system’s bypass valve to open, allowing unfiltered fluid to recirculate. The manufacturer constructs the filter to match the original housing’s thread and seal interface, so the bypass valve seats correctly and the filter seals without leaks. When replacing, clean the housing mounting surface and tighten the filter by hand until the gasket contacts the housing, then advance it the recommended additional rotation.
