This shaft transmits rotary motion from the header drive to the reel assembly. It sits between the gearbox output and the reel hub, synchronizing the reel speed with the cutterbar and auger. A worn or bent shaft causes reel wobble and uneven crop feeding into the cross auger. This original component is machined to the same spline and journal tolerances as the factory shaft, so it fits the bearings and couplings without shimming. On installation, verify that the shaft rotates freely in its bearings before connecting the drive.
