A worn or bent holder allows the finger to misalign, which reduces feeding consistency and can cause material buildup at the header throat. This original component is machined to match the auger tube's mounting geometry, so the finger sits at the factory-specified orientation without shimming. On reinstall, apply thread-locking compound to the mounting bolt and torque it to specification.
