This engine oil filter removes contaminants from the lubricating oil before it circulates through the engine bearings and galleries. It is mounted on the engine block of the host harvesting machine, receiving oil directly from the pump and passing it through the filter media before it reaches the main oil gallery. A clogged filter restricts oil flow, which can lead to reduced oil pressure and accelerated wear on crankshaft and camshaft bearings. The filter housing seals against the engine block with a gasket that should be replaced during each filter change to prevent external leakage.
