Donaldson - P502163 - Fuel Filter

This fuel filter removes particulate and water from the fuel supply before it reaches the injection pump. It is installed in the fuel line between the tank and the high-pressure pump, where it protects the injector nozzles and pump internals from abrasive contamination. A restricted filter causes a pressure drop that leads to hard starting, misfiring, or loss of power under load. The manufacturer machines the sealing face and thread to match the original filter head, so the gasket seats correctly and no bypass leakage occurs. On replacement, drain any water from the bowl and prime the system before starting the engine.
